Default trailer light issue

On my 2500 i have only right side lights i have no left side and no running lights. Its a brand new trailer and it works on my other trucks but on mine for some reason the left side never works. ive replaced the connecter twice to no avail. i have a diagram of the vehicle side connector but does anybody know of a diagram for the vehicles trialer wiring diagram.like where it goes and where its connected. and will it hurt if i take the old plug out an hardwire a new plug in.

Same problem on my 98...No running lights. I chased it down to the truck, not the trailer...Spliced into the trucks wire harness, ran a new wire from the trailer connector to the wire that powers the running lights. It worked for a couple weeks. Now the truck doesn't have any running lights, just head lights. I suspect it's a blown fuse now, but the question is why?

I'm going to hardwire a sperate fused lead from the Battery to the the running lights on the trailer, switch it on the dash.

These trucks seem to have issues with the trailer harness. They tend to short, or corrode, or a few other interesting forms of failure. Check all the connections where the trailer harness hits the truck harness.

Probably not, but, it would be better if you found the real problem, and fixed that.
