Just re-torque the bolts and see if it still leaks.

+1 on what annihilator said. Cause if that dont work (which it may not 50/50 chance) your looking at 120$ transmission filter gasket and fluid exchange. Which never hurts if it hasnt been done in 40k miles. Just did mine after 100k no service (NOT RECOMMENDED PEOPLE) and added a transcooler. BIG DIFFERENCE.

Not sure what your budget is but here is a link to a tranny pan that Drewactual did. I installed the same pan on my truck back in March. It is $170.00 with the extension. Jury is still out on whether this is a good mod as the pan is steel and not aluminum. I like it myself for a cheaper mod but if your having rust issues you may want to look at the aluminum. There are other choices out there for aluminum such as Mag Hytec, B&M and T.C.I.

Here's my link as well as Drew's:

As far as gaskets go get the Mopar gasket from the dealer. Great gasket! no fuss no muss.

Torque specs for the pan and filter are somewhere in the "How To" section.

Here's the B&M Deep Pan I bought for my trans. As ontimeanthony said, I got my gasket from the dealership.

Just googling the same thing.I have the same issue.I thought the seals were blown out but when i filled it,i could see it all coming from the pan.It is completely rotted/rusted away.As i looked around under there,i started seeing a lot of things like this.
My 98 1500 only has 80k miles on it.Never seen a pan do this before

Changed mine in '06 with 41k on the odometer

went with the B&M from summit...just a word of caution...I had to cut out some of the fins in the bottom to get it to fit...The filter will hit the cooling fins with the filter extention. At least thats how I remember it...

Good luck
