Default PCV help

Hi Guys,

I recently learnt that my Ram hasnt got a PCV installed, someone has installed an after market (top mounted) mopar air filter and has subsequently put 2 crankcase breather filters on rather than 1 crankcase filter (drive side) and PCV (passenger side).

I now have the PCV but unfortunately im a bit stuck with how to install it, the idea is pretty simple, it goes in to the crankcase and then feeds to the intake manifold as far as im aware (correct me if im wrong).

However as I have an aftermarket (top mounted) mopar air filter sitting on top of me engine I cannot see where to put the other end of the PCV once it has been plugged into the crankcase.

Can anyone give me some guidance with this? What should be a simple job seems to be more dificult than it should be.

It connects to the side of the intake manifold, near the brake booster hose. They must have blocked it off somehow, so look for a plug on the end of the nipple.

What exactly does the pvc valve do? I know its relatively important, I just don't know what it does.
