Paint coating/Interior dash help?
Brand new to this forum. Gotta say, I LOVE my 1999 Ram, but it has it's dings. The paint coating has completely peeled off of my roof and now the sides are beginning to peel also. I'm thinking about just getting a new paint job, but if I do that, will they replace the coating as well? Also, I bought this truck used from a firefighter, and the dash above the glove box is completely busted. Is it replacable? THANK YOU
If you get the truck repainted, yes, they will clearcoat it as well.
The dash is most certainly replaceable. Just not cheap. Lots of threads on that topic.
Do a search for "wild vents" for the A/C problem. There is a whole thread dedicated to it.
Also have a look at the plenum thread stickied at the top of this forum. Common problem for these trucks.

Unless he opts for the single stage paint job.
Yeah if you get the same paint job they'll use a base (which gives the vehicle it's color) and a clear coat. With out the clear coat the base coat will eventually fade away. Then comes the rust....
Regular washing and waxing will extend the life of any paint job.
As for the dash they do make covers and hard shell overlays for it.
I have no clue for the A/C issue.
