Default Fuel Tank Overflow

1996 5.9L 1500 X-Cab - On hot days after driving around and when I park the truck, I get fuel pushed out of the tank near where the rubber filler/overflow hoses enter the tank. I replaced the fuel cap to no avail. I keep getting different and conflicting answers for this problem. I was going to replace the charcoal filter, but the parts store couldn't find it. All they brought me was a fabric filter 4 1/2 inches across and about 1/4 inch thick. The parts store guy told me I needed to replace the fuel tank pressure valve - I haven't heard of this part before. And it goes against the whole idea of having the charcoal canister - as far as I can tell. So, has anyone experienced this and what did you do to rectify the situation? Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks.
