Default Odometer

This may be a stupid question, but.....

I bought my truck with the assumption that it had 62,000 miles on it. There have been several problems that seem to me like maybe there should be a 1 in front of the 62000. Is there a 100000+ position in the digital odometer. If so, I will chalk it up to the crazy lift and tires.

Maybe they changed the panel. Sometime's people will swap the panel that has a huge fuel gauge, for one that has a tach.

the odometer does display all 6 digits. but like zman said, its easy to change the instrument cluster, and the mileage goes with the cluster.

the mileage is also recorded in the pcm. with the proper? scan tool, you can display it and compare it to the cluster. i don't have a scanner, so i don't know whether you'd need the $100 scanner or the $megabuck dealer tool.

Well, I'd like to think that they are original miles. My problems consist of a horrible knock in the steering, bad power steering pump, front drive shaft, track bar, and water pump. ( ALL found at Northwest Tire shop ) Other than that, they say it's in fantastic shape.

that's normal for a 10 year old truck, and normal for a dodge with 62,000.
you may also be ready for a cat, trans, ball joints, plenum repair and an assload of other things.
