Exclamation Tranny pan leaking?

okay guys i put in a new batt, she started right up sounding and looking fine.

but there was a problem... i looked under , and the pan is leaking. tranny pan that is.

we put a new gasket with gasket sealer.

but the pan is very rusty and dirty.

we did put in a tranny drain plug also. so keep that in mind.
it showed drips from the middle of the pan. yes i know it may have rolled down to the middle of the pan. but the seal looked and felt dry and the bolts looked dirty and rusty , i didnt see any that were wet with tranny fluid. and where the drain plug was it looked dry. ill take a better look at it in the morning.

but my uncle thinks the pan is rotted out and its dripping right from the pan.

But i think it might be the seal , we didnt torque the bolts down but we did make them pretty tight not over tightened though... maybe it was the sealer?

What do you guys think?

Thanks all,

~Tyler

It's entirely possible the pan has a pin hole from rot. You'll just have to clean it off good and see where it's leaking.

The pan may be bad? But if you have the cash to burn I'd upgrade it with an aftermarket one. With the extra capacity of fluid benefited from an aftermarket its a very worthy upgrade. Heres the one that I'm running. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/DE...n/?prefilter=1
