Default rattiling nosie

I have a '99 Dodge Ram 4x4 quad cab. Just got it a couple of weeks ago. I have been noticing a rattling noise or pinging noise. First i thought it was the octane in the gas i was using (regular), so i went up to the plus stuff. I think that made the rattling better but it still does it when i give it gas at about 2,000 rpms. I tried revving it to 2,000 and a little past in park and and did not rattle at all. Does this mean that something is just loose somewhere??? Also do any of your vehicles seap a little bit between the the engine and the pullies, trying to find out if it is somewhat normal or not, Ram has 75,000 miles on it.

Thanks

oil is seaping, not fast but enough to create grime buildup. Could the rattiling be the plenum gasket???
