I'm running the exact same shroud, fit and finish was not what I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong its is a cool shroud. I didn't like the fact that I had to drill out the holes that match up to the Radiator and use fender washers.

You cant expect any machinist to be able to make this PERFECTLY for every dodge ram. Each has their own quarks. I had to do a little modding on the coolant tanks and give them a pinch to lock into on the bottom to ensure no rattle. I grinded the seams. I painted. What I think I "paid for" is the luxury not to have to drill and tap 40 holes figure out what harness and controller to get, figure out what connectors im going to need, etc. You pay for 10 hours less of head scratching. No matter what install isn't going to be for the average person. (like installing a rollpan)

Oh and JasonW if you do make this a DIY please change the name of the thread to DIY not DYI LOL

Thanks to JasonW too without his pics + help I wouldn't of been so motivated!

What would you have to drill and tap 40 holes for? What brand of fans came with the kit? Great write up btw.

8 holes for the fans
4 holes for the controller
2 holes for the relay
10 holes to mount both sides to the front
4 holes to mount to old shroud mount

then all the holes, knotches, and grooves made for the tanks on the sides.

so about 40 holes of work. lots of cutting, bending, welding etc. Cutting nice circles on thing sheet of aluminum without melting the metal or going off is hard as well.

Guess I paid for that luxury too. Minus the Spal controller.

They are 16" fans.

I copied your DIY post to the DIY section.

For me...

-TCP Aluminum shroud only: $150 + $25 shipping
-FF Dynamics 165 fan (x2): $210 + free shipping (caught them on sale!)
-Hayden two fan controller: $40 (local)

Main reason I went that route myself is that the FF Dynamic fans together pull just a tad over 25A IIRC at startup, and they put out 3000 CFM per fan (total of 6000 CFM). Yeah, its probably overkill, but thats how I wanted it.
