fuel pressure problem 97 ram truck
I believe that I am having fuel pressure problems and I want to check the pressure at the fuel rails. My (97 dodge ram 360) fuel rail does not have an access port, so I was wanting to split the rubber hose that runs from one fuel rail to the other and put a permanent "T" fitting and fuel gauge on the engine under the hood. Has anyone done this or something similar.

Yes, with that much gas in the tank, I would take the bed off. Not hard at all. On mine, there was only 6 bolts, and one ground strap on the pass. side near the front bolt. And you dont even have to set the bed all the way off. If you have a friend and two equal length 2x4's, just lean the bed back like a dump truck, and voila! there is the fuel pump! As far as cheapest, In my neck of the woods, the dealer was about $300, and autozone and advance were more then half that. I think I paid $125 for mine last year.
I was just curious to see that you guys with fuel pump problems, are you running fuel with any ethanol content. I know back in 95 my dad had a v10 and he burned Casey's gas some and at the time I think it was 10% ethanol. He got worse mileage from that gas compared to other pure fuels and had to have the fuel pump replaced in it while still under warranty which meant it had low miles. After that he quit burning the ethanol mixed crap gas and didn't have any more problems. I just wondered if there was a coincidence or not.
