It crushed my heart when I found that out..but you have to work with what you got! A few years with the '94 doing basic bolt ons and sending the pcm to b and g is okay(it is practice impossible to find the mopar performance pcms for these things)..as soon as I get my money for the new RAM 1500 express with the 5.7 hemi the fun will really start!

Hey guys i have a 1997 ram with a 318 what do yall recomend for some great performance?
Also if you stroke a 318 do you have to send off the pcm to get programmed or what?
Are there any diy's for a 318 to a 360 swap on here?

The 318 to 360 swap is just take old motor out put new one in lol. You'll need a computer for the 360 and a torque converter as the 360's are externally balanced. The 318 can be stroked to like a 342 or something like that with just a 360 crank with the mains turned down to fit the 318 main bearings but you'll still need a tune and a few other parts.

What kind of gains would I get if I did the 360 crank in my 318 and what other parts would be needed?

You can't put a 360 crank in a 318, the mains are different.

I'm not an expert on engine machining but sounds plausible. I'm pretty sure you can buy 360 stroke aftermarket cranks for 318 mains but most just go straight to 390.
