it is one of my top 3 favorite. i like how you can hear the guy let off the gas long after he is out of site. i bet you could hear that thing coming from miles away. maybe 1 day my truck will grow a 390 but for now it will have to live with the strong little 318.

i would love a ride in that thing. you probably couldn't grab a $100 bill off the dash with the amount of power that thing puts out on takeoff.

I like the idea of a 390 but if it's possible to get a 340ish out of my 318 then that would be a lot cheaper than getting the block bored etc. does anyone else know about the 360 crank deal?

It's machine work either way... turning down the main journals or boring the block

^i agree. it will cost you the same amount of money no matter how you look at it. your still paying for all brand new parts and work.

No, but if you want power replacing the pistons is a good idea anyway...

Just go 390. Definitely worth it in the long run IMO.

I'm planning on doing the same thing with my truck, turning it into a 390. Or you could find the Magnum V10..and get a stroker kit for that!
