Default coil wires (no power)

What does the blk&gry wire going to the coil do? The gr/or has power to it. No power out of the coil. The blk/gry goes to the pcm. Truck will not start it would start and run for a few seconds then die. Now it has no fire out of the coil at all. Any ideas crank sensor or mabe the cam sensor(pickup coil) or just a dead coil?

One wire will have power for a few seconds at key on. The other wire the PCM grounds to 'charge' the coil, and then breaks the circuit to fire the coil.

Do you hear the fuel pump prime at key on?

Going to be either the coil, or a crank sensor then. Test the coil wiring (power, and ground.....) with a noid light, or test light. If the light blinks properly, replace the coil.

After putting a crank sensor on it's back to having random spark. It will start and run a few seconds about every 6 - 9 tries. When it dies and check for sprak there is none. Any ideas coil or pick up coil? That is about all thats left.

Changed the pickup coil and it fired right up. Had to reset the pcm to get the check engine light to go off, but it's all good now.
