Thanks, these northern auto guys look pretty good, I also wanted to look at installing a cam while the motors all ripped apart, what kind of lift and durations should i be looking for? And how about springs?

What do you want to do with your truck, (how do you want to use it.) how much do you want to spend, and does that account for 365 bucks for the tuner that might be required?

I dont wanna destroy the bank, just want a kewl idle and some rockin horsepower when i open er up, but decent gas mileage (for a 318) when im playin nice. Already have cold air intake, want to do exhaust next, then tuner n shift kit. Want to beef up the tranny, with a budget in mind, as well, already burned two up. Next project is to build a car trailer for my mud truck, so i dont hafta roadbash and stress about big brother, so a lil bit of towing is gunna be in order as well

When looking at cams, look at what RPM range they are designed to operate in. You want to stick with something that goes from 600-1200 for the start, to wherever it ends up. If you want a bit more power on the top end, you are going to sacrifice power on the bottom end. It's a compromise. Also, watch max lift. If it is over .480, you are going to need to do springs as well.

follow this setup:
http://www.bionicdodge.com/bionic/in...p?topic=9197.0
you can PM b1llyw and he will get you the specs for that camshaft.

Get heads and a camshaft. headers and a new y pipe and you will be good. OH and get a SCT tuner from hemifever.

So with all that you are looking at 400 for the camshaft, 600-1200 for the heads. 400-475 for the headers, and 300 for the y-pipe and exhaust work. Plus 275 for the SCT, plus an extra 100 for the custom tuning.

Cam=expensive. Relatively cheap part for the power you get, but the work involved is tough. ANd since you have a 5.2, you should talk to AIMforsquirrels about what cam to put in. he did not have much piston to valve clearance.

Oh, im not gunna get new heads for it, just put all new guts in the stock ones, i was thinkin tuner, exhaust, throttle body, already have intake, cam, mebbe intake man. and considering pistons... Put it all together for a really well breathing motor with a kewl idle thats not gunna destroy the gas mileage
