Default high idle in park

Hey,

Started the truck up today (after charging the battery) and noticed its idling high in park, at around 2000 RPM.

It lurches into gear then the idle settles down. Put it back in park and the rpms go back up.

The idle is steady, just high. No sputtering, revving, stalling, etc.

Searching around here makes me think to check the IAC or TPS.

Anything else I should look at?

Thanks!

just make sure none of your throttle linkage or cruise control is bound up.

TPS or IAC is the likely culprit there.... check 'em both.

After some stern words and a stare down, today the idle issue is gone. Idles back down around 750 RPM.

Weird. I'll keep the IAC & TPS on my list of things to check soon.

Only thing I could think is a different from yesterday to today is the outside temp. Was ~ 100 yesterday afternoon. It was in the 60s last night.

I've got the wild vents and the cruise slowly lets off on hills too. Could vac lines be an issue? Could those affect idle?

Just idle speculation. (pardon the pun)

Please don't PUNish us in such fashion, its not nice.

Vacuum lines could most certainly be an issue. Wild vents and cruise losing speed point to a vacuum issue somewhere. Have a look at ALL the lines. See if anything is obvious. Cruise module is under the battery tray.... and tends to get nasty chemicals dripped on it, which eat thru the line or module.
