Default Should front drive shaft be spinning when in 2H?

Just noticed this the other day, I always assumed when in 2H the front drive shaft would not be spinning...thought maybe my 4x4 was stuck or something?

sorry....CAD?

It doesent "feel" like the truck is in 4x4...I know when im in it..wheels dont spin when you floor it cause the power is going to all 4 wheels...handles different..etc....but I noticed the shaft is spinning, also the 4WD light is off.

CAD = Central Axle Disconnect. On the passenger side of the front axle. Has a vacuum actuator, with two lines going to it.

Try this: Jack up the passenger front wheel of the truck. With the trans in park, T-case in 2-hi, try and spin the front driveshaft by hand. It should turn easily, and you shouldn't see anything else turning.

If the passenger front wheel turns, the cad isn't releasing completely.

If the shaft won't turn at all, something in the T-case is messed up.
