That's what I've been told. Been doing lots of research and question asking... I think I seen the jegs off road y pipe if your not running a cat.. pretty cheap. If u want the cat then the Magna flow high flow cat and y pipe direct replacement.. http://discountperformanceexhaust.co...5-p-20291.html
That's the one I'm getting. Cheap price too.

2001 exhaust isn't the same as the earlier years. And it probably won't be the same for a 5.9,

wait do you have a 3500 gasser, or diesel?

I can tell you without doubt, the Y pipe on my '02 was a hideous thing..

it basically took the two 2.25" pipes (off the passenger side collector, and from the drivers side crossover pipe) an lined them up with a 2.5" single pipe, took a sleeve of pipe maybe 3" in diameter and squeezed them together as a sleeve.. like reminiscent of 'shrink wrapping'..

think this way- instead of the pipes looking something like this:

O
o o

they looked like this:

O
db

The two pipes leading into the junction were squeezed, like trying to shove two drinking straws into the same hole on a fountain drink cup's lid.. CHOKE central..

I got my magnaflow cat from the website listed, it comes with the y pipes and the pipe after the cat, your just going to need to weld the driver side y pipe to the cat.

Idk about much performance gain, but it sure does sound a whole hell of alot better.

So i did a search on magnaflows site, and it seems they dont make a setup like the one posted for your truck, you can only get the cat and not the y pipes for your year. so maybe if your place of residence doesnt do emmisions testing you could just gut it or straight pipe it
