gas tank strap

Default gas tank strap

well one of my gas tank straps rusted and broke in half so i went to the part store and got new ones to put on. well i've sprayed some pb on the nuts let them sit over nite and i still can't break them loose to change them. are these things torqued down or what?

No, just rusted in place. Hit 'em with chemicals, and tap on em with a hammer to get the chems to work their way into the threads. Prolly not gonna be any fun gettin' em off.

ye they are not torqued, just gotta put some *** behind it, if the chemicals dont work, let it dry, or dry it out and heat the nut up but be carefull seeing as how its right next to the gas tank.
