2002 2500 - Will it have the classic problems?
I am looking at getting a 2002 2500 5.9 gas, Quad Cab, long bed 4x2, with about 100K. Should I expect the same issues I've had with my '01 1500, like check valve delete and plenum? I know the 1500 was changed in 2002, but was anything changed on the 2500? Are there any other issues with it that I should pay attention to?
i believe the '02 2500 is 2nd gen all the way, with 5.9, plenum, weak trans, etc, but possibly the additional of rear disc brakes.
the 3rd gen was intro'd in 02 for the 1500, but not until 03 for the 2500/3500 (i think).

the body on the 25/3500's didn't change until '03.. it was the last of the body styles that changed the game.. I wish i could find a good one w/ 5.9L CTD..
from what I can gather, (mine is an '02. 5.9) the plenum bolts were maybe shorter, and they used a better gasket.. so, plenum pan to intake manifold MAY be stronger, but still a weak point- if that makes any sense.. you'll have the death flash from the factory.. it has the same tranny issues as the earlier rigs, and you'll need to get rid of the check valve.
