What other parts did you have to use? And you've got a 5" lift with 2" spacers and everything was just fine.? I don't really drive the truck every day but if I do drive it its just on date night lol to town or the bonfires. Its kinda my weekend whip. Ii don't go wheeling or mudding I just wanna make sure im not gonna tear anything up

A “liftkit” is just that; a “kit”, a bunch of parts designed to work together to make a safe and reliable product to be used on/off the road. When you start mixing 5” parts with 7”-8” parts strange things will start to happen to your truck. The 5” control arms will be to short and will move the front diff back approx. ½-3/4 of an inch which will affect the steering geometry, driveline angle will be off and so on. If you go and grind on the constant velocity joint all you are doing is weakening that part which will fail at the worst time. I don’t know what you have for a track bar but if it’s a fixed length bar for a 5” kit it will not work for a 7”-8” lift, your truck will dog track and eat up your nice new tires. Just because everybody does it does not make it right or safe. Since you don’t wheel your truck what about a body lift? Or you could look for the component parts box for the front end of your truck.
