Default 97 ram lifting more questions

I have a 97 ram 1500. And I put a 5" rough country suspension lift on it with front coil springs and rear blocks.I've had it on there for about a year now and its time to lift it more. I was looking around at coil spacers and add a leafs cause I think that's the route im gonna go but the big question I come to is are the control arms gonna accommodate for 2 more inches on the front. My plan was to just get 2" spacers but if I have to get new controls arms im gonna go with top gun customs control arms and get 8" arms and just lift it 3 more inches. Another big question is the track bar drop bracket, with it being for the 5" lift will it work if I lift it 2 to 3" more? Also I've been told if you lift your truck suspension wise over 7" you have to index the transfer case. I want to lift my truck more cause its about time for tires but id really like to keep it somewhat simple and cheap. I appreciate everyones opinion and advice. Thanks.

I'm running a 5" kit with 2" spacers as well. You may or may not need to work on the front driveshaft for clearance. I'm using the 5" arms but I've got the top gun adjustable track bar.

So you have spacers on your 5" lift and your control arms are fine? Did you have to grind on your driveshaft for clearance?

Coil spacers on top of lift springs UGH... Under NO circumstances are SKYJACKER® coil springs to be used in conjunction with any type of coil spring or spring tower block/spacer. The use of coil spring block/spacers will allow ANY coil spring to exceed its designed stress and travel loads allowing it be overstressed, oversprung, fatigued, and possibly break. SKYJACKER® warranty is void under any such application.

Why not just get a new set of 8" springs from tgc and all the right parts to go with it. Not much of your 5" kit will work "right" and yes you will need a tc index ring.

Well the main reason why is cause if I have to buy a track bar front springs control arms and shocks with the rear add a leaf I may as well just go buy an 8" lift and take off my 5. I know that would be the best thing to do. But like I said my wallet isn't big enough for all that. Plus the reason im lifting is because my tires are getting close to time for new rubber and tires are gonna be 12 to 1500 bucks. Lol I don't know. Where can I get these index rings or whatever they are?

Side shot 7" on 35's. Ive never seen a 8" coil for a 1500, only a 7". You do not need an indexing ring if you have the right parts. Mine barely hit, I could've gotten away with just a little grinding but a guy I know used a couple different parts on the knuckle and I have yet to bind it. As long as you don't plan on literally jumping your truck I don't where spacers are a problem. It is very common to be done.

Also I would say 7" is the most I would go with those short arms. Honestly when I put the 2" spacers on it actually seemed to take some of the pressure off of the trac bar. Like the drop bracket that was on it was designed for more lift.
