Default 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 A/C Problem

My A/C works only when the engine has cooled. I hooked up my A/C gauges and started the engine and the clutch engaged when I turned on the A/C. The low side pressure was 115psi and the high side was 200psi. I began to add Freon and then stopped. The low side line began to get condensation on it, no frost. The low side began to rise in pressure all the way into the retard region on the gauge(>120psi). The high side went to 325 psi before I cut the A/C off. The temp of the air coming out the vents was around 50F. What could be causing this? Could my system be clogged? I had taken the compressor off a few months back to take the intake off and replace the baffle gasket. By moving the compressor the way I did, did I knock off some debris that was inside the rubber hoses? Does this system have a expansion valve? I don't see one unless it is inside the cab. I see something on the high side tube that is wrapped in temp resistant foil. Does anyone know what that is? Any help will be appreciated.

Depending on outside temp at the time, I would say the system is overcharged..... Your low side readings should be about half that, or less.

Did you just move the compressor out of the way? Or did you open the system, and then REALLY get the compressor out of the way?

I just moved it out of the way and sit it on the fan shroud. I don't see how the system can be overcharged since the A/C was working before I fixed the intake. The out side temp was like around 75F at the time.

According to the charts, Low side pressure at that temp should be around 40-45 PSI..... You are WAY over that..... High side should be 175 to 215.......

I would really suggest getting the system evacuated, and recharged with the correct amount of refrigerant/oil.
