Question '01 1500 clutch problem

The clutch went out today on my '01 1500. I'm not sure what the problem is or where to start. The clutch pedal now depresses very easily to the floorboard and I assume the clutch is not engaging. Please help.

Your clutch is hydraulic, first thing to do, is check the fluid level in the master cylinder for the clutch. Should be just to the drivers side of the brake booster.

That was thefirst thing that I checked. The fluid level looked fine. Even with the truck not running, the clutch pedal has no resistance and makes an airy noise when depressed.

The clutch system has a leak somewhere. Just like hydraulic brakes, a little air in the system will pretty much make the clutch inoperable.

Probably blown master or slave.... see any leaks anywhere? (given the fluid level is good, prolly not eh?)

Pull the slave off, (leave the hydraulic line attached...) see how easy it is to compress... while you hold it in, have a friend step slowly on the pedal. The rod should come out, and you should NOT be able to hold it in.... (don't let it blow out though, have your buddy stop at some point, or it will all come apart.....)
