Seafoam the truck and give her a tune up (Cap rotor plugs). I bet she will run much better.
I did a tune-up less than 6 months ago - plugs, wires, cap and rotor, but not much change on the rough idle. I'll do the seafoam treatment to try to get that engine a bit cleaner and hopefully running better. I realize that these trucks are old and won't run like a 2011, but the rough idle and hesitation just bug the hell outta me.

OH, one more thing. Has anyone experienced that when you step on the gas somewhat aggressively, you can almost hear the engine sucking air? I don't know if that's what it is, but it's the best way I can describe the sound. FYI - I changed the throttle body gasket when I did the plenum because it broke, and it still makes the noise.

I assume this is a response to the statement I made. Note that I did not say or did I mean to say or imply that I believe Chrysler is designing to try to obtain max power or efficiency. I think if you reread you'll agree my point is that the designs are created such that they will be most optimal, per the oem design intention, in the temperature range they are designed to be used in. There is a big difference in those two ideas. I apologize for the confusion. My reputation isn't that of a great communicator.

I have read people getting Eng Codes when running the 180 stat, but they could of had other problems.. Air in the system will cause that sometimes. if I had more upgrades I would have went the 180 route.
