Default Lots of play in steering.

I can grab my front tie rod (The one connected to the steering box), and wobble it by hand....I'm assuming this is bad?

How does a person replace the tie rod ends on these trucks? I have never really messed around with steering....is there a special tool needed?

if there is any lateral play in any front end parts they are bad, as for replacing you dont really need any special tools. when you install new ends measure how long the rod is with the old one and try to make it the same legth with the new one.

then get an alignment so you dont ruin your tires or have a pull
