I drive a ram 2500 5.9L v8 4x4, and im hoping to get some exhaust on it without breaking my wallet... I originally wanted two true dual 18" glasspipes with stock headers and 5" tips, but now I'm thinking straights... toss me some ideas...

 

how much ya wanna spend, and is there a custom exhaust shop within reasonable driving distance??

 

Well, I'm hoping to pay as little as possible cause i don't get much income right now.. and aint no custom exhaust places round here for several miles, so we get everything exhaust-wise done at the local auto-shops...

 

Close enough. Got emissions testing in your area? If you don't have to worry about that particular aspect of it..... get rid of the stock cat/y-pipe. That is where the most restriction is. There are aftermarket "off road" y's available, but, I don't think that solution falls in line with your "as little as possible" criterion. A single three inch pipe will flow as well as dual 2.25's, so, you could maybe save a bit of money going that route. There are a boatload of videos on youtube demonstrating various mufflers, and how they sound. Might wanna check those out, to make sure you get the sound you are going for.

 

Haha, thanks... right now, I have a hole in my muffler so I'm probably gonna take it out and replace it with a straight piece of pipe, leaving only the cat/y pipes...

 

That is certainly an inexpensive solution.
