Default Dash pad

I know this has been spoken about a lot but I am new to this fourm and I just got a 96 dodge ram a week ago. The dash pad on it does not exist. So my question is the pads that are being sold that can be pasted on to the existing dash how would that work if I do not have a old dash pad. What would the new dash pad rest on, or paste on

Yes, the dash pad need the original dash to lay on even if broken. The pad is not strong enough to hold itself up. If you don't have a dash top at all you will have to go the expensive route.

My bad. If you need the actual dashboard and don't have or want to spend a lot of money I'd try the junkyards. You might find one in good or decent condition.

LOL Donyt want to spend anymore than I have to but my old dash board does not exist. It has broken off and the guy who had it before me throw all the pieces away. So there is nothing left to support the overlay. But thanks for the info
