Whatever is in there now..... if you don't know, change it, and then you will know. 80W90 for most uses, 75W140 if you do towing/hauling regularly.

any 90, 85w90, 80w90, or 75w140 GL5 gear oil.

if you change your diff oil, find out if you have and LSD or not and if so, add in the LSD friction modifier for the clutches, or use the super expensive stuff that already has it in the blend.

tip - don't get any on your clothes. if you do - throw them away. smells like ****, won't come out, and gets on everything else they're washed with.

I was told by a reputable shop in my area that if you live in a hot climate, go thicker, whether you tow, haul, or just drive. They recommend a synthetic oil, such as amsoil, royal purple, or mobile 1.

They told me that they used to use dino oil, but were seeing too much broken down oil in the hotter months in their fleet service vehicles, and made the decision to switch to synthetics for everything they do now.

Most all the synthetics have a friction modifier already mixed in.

try not to store open bottles in the cab, those snap on caps don't seal the best and can really make your truck smell if it leaks
