Default How do I make my truck as water resistant as possible

I live in Florida where taking our cars off roading means going through the swamp. My truck has held up well and I never go in water deeper then the top of the wheel wells (even though itd be fun) unless I just blow through it. what all should I do to preserve my truck as well as possiible? I know I shouldn't take it through the water in the first place but I need to use my ten mpg beast and the only place I feel good about such horrible gas mileage is off roading and towing. So any tips will be appreciated!

Remove every electrical connector you can find and put dielectric grease on them. That's a start anyway.

^^^^agreed, get the plug wires real good, also take the heat sheilds around the plugs out.

Raise your vents up higher, front diff, rearend, tranny.

Snorkel the truck.

Check lower door seals

Might want to look into a water resistant prefilter

Buy a new, HIGH QUALITY cap and rotor and get some RTV sealant and seal off the cap pretty good with it. A new gasket would be optimal, but I'd still use the RTV anyway. This should keep moisture out of the cap. Go for the high quality parts so you don't have to remove that sealed cap as often.
