I used an airhammer with a chisel shank. Put it between the hub and knuckle you'll prolly beat up some of the splash shield in the process. But it can still be used

Thats how I got mine out

Also sand the inner part with like 150 before installing new one makes it much easier to align

Default Hub shoulder - a little play

I just replaced my tonight, not too bad, big hammer and alot of luck. I do have a question though. When I put the new hub back on there was a small amount of play between the shoulder on the new hub and the hole where the hub shoulder fit into on the truck. Has anyone else notice any play between the two, I did purchase the hub from the dealer.

thanks

VEETEN beat you to it! He must have seen your thread.

I knew that video would come in handy around here!

Sure beats the heck out of beating the heck out of the hub from behind...

as long as the bearing seated all the way into the knuckle cavity, you're ok, and having a little gap at the outer edge might be a plus to prevent it from seizing in. but if you're not seated into the knuckle, then that's not good.

Well, got the drivers side off. One more to go... I used a good quality cold chisel and a sledge to beat on the seam. It finally let go. Damn I'm sore. 120k on the truck.

Does it make sense to replace them, or the bearing at least?

It does make sense to replace them. And they come as a unit, not just a bearing. Not cheap.

Anyone know where I can get the rubber seal that sits on the axle shaft near the U-Joint?

You talking about where the axle goes in the tube?
