The D60 will also have eight lug axles.

You want the same gear ratio front and rear, so, whatever is in there now, is what you wanna stay with..... (if you don't wanna spend the money to re-gear the front.)

Gears don't make a posi. That is a product of the carrier. (what the ring gear bolts to) Our trucks were offered with a trac-loc, or some such, from the factory, (true trac?) so, you could probably find a rear end that will bolt right up, with the right gears, and a posi, with a bit of searching.

Pretty hard to find though,as the off road package are the only ones that came with it, no ? Not sure , that's why I'm asking.

i think rear Limited Slip (LSD)/Trac-Loc was an option from the factory in any gear ratio for the 1500 9.25's. Most were in 3.55, a few 3.92, and i think the only 4.10 were in the 00-01 Off-Road edition.

The only problem is that most Trac-Loc's are crap, and are long broken, so if you get one out of the junkyard, you'll need to rebuild it. not too bad, but just something else to have to do, and more money for the kit. no personal experience, but it looks sort of tedious.

the guy said it was a 5 lug.

as for the gearing. would it be possible to take the posi out of this other axle and put it in the one on my truck and keep the gearing? wouldnt it just be a matter of taking out the spider gears and adding the posi?

What was it out of? What is the bolt pattern for the wheels?

You cannot take any parts out of the d60, and put them in your 9.25. They won't fit.

Unless I'm misinformed, it's not a D60 if it has 5 lug axles.

The D60's also came in various flavors of muscle cars, and had five lug axles. They weren't full floaters though.

No...... the only D60's I have seen in the second gens were full floaters, and eight lug. If his axle was NOT out of a truck, (maybe a first gen??) then there is going to be some fabrication required to make it fit. I would question first if it is even wide enough for the truck..... spring pads are prolly not going to be in the same place either....... not to mention probably no provision for the rear wheel speed sensor...
