rear axle/gearing question
so there is a guy here in town selling a dana 60 with posi. question i have is its got 4.11 gears. would that be too much gearing? ive seen some guys post they have 3.92 gearing, he's wanting $200. im thinking about getting it tomorrow, what do you guys think, would that be good gearing for a 4*4?

4.10 is perfect gearing but be aware its not a direct bolt in replacement on a 1500. you'll have to figure out springs, shackles, perches, and maybe drive shaft. if you can do this then $200 is a great price, they can go for $500-1000.
also if you have a 4wd, you MUST change the gearing in the front to match or else do not not not use 4wd.

What will happen if i dont change the gearing in the front?

Nothing just re-read the above threads for all the needed mods to install a Dana 60 in a 1500

nothing wrong with a dana 60. zman is kicking himself in the *** with his one good leg because he missed your post that it was a d60 and he neglected to caution you that its not a direct fit swap with a 9.25

ok so what is a posi gear ratio that would work without having to screw with the front axle? I dont mind having to relocate things on a axle. did it in my 77 chevy when i put a posi rear from a 95 chevy. nothing new to me there.. also.. i have been thinking of forced induction. does anyone know the compression ration of the 5.9? I figured i could use the stock turbo off of the cummins if i couldnt find a decent aftermarket turbo.
I know what your gonna say.. trying to haul *** in his truck.. i just like turboing things.. like i said i did it to my R1 just because i could. anyway. if anyone knows those numbers that would be rad.
