Default How can this be solved?

Im looking at an 01 ram and it has rust holes on the front and rear wheel well on both sides. Could I grind this down and put on some fender flares or put a little sheetmetal after grinding to put them on?

Front fenders can be easily replaced, rears you can get repair panels for, or, just weld in some metal. Fender flares will hide the flaws, but, won't prevent it from getting worse.

The front fenders can be replaced yes, but easily is up for debate. LOL I did one on my 98 and it was far from easy. IIRC, it was a major PITA. I couldn't believe it to tell you the truth.

I have a rust whole in the front driver side fender. I was thinking of just replacing that fender.

I also have pretty bad rust above the rear tire on the driver side. Personally I am going to have a shop cut out the bad and replace with a repair panel. I do most of my own work, but I don't do body work. lol I would suggest some thing like that. Just like HeyYou said, you will be covering up the issue and not fixing it. Rust is easy to scare, but it will come back and in greater numbers.

As far as the front fender goes, I'd replace again, rather than try and fix it. (even though it was a PITA)

There's more stuff to remove than meets the eye for some reason. At first glance it looks easy. Maybe I'm just remembering what the FSM said to do, when I read it before hand.. It's been a while.
