trans could be rebuilt. if it was, count it as a blessing.

I hear you there. I've seen these motors last a long long time. I just got the truck not long ago and the last two things I have to do are the trans fluid and coolant flush. Ive done both diffs, and oil change, new plugs wires distributor cap and rotor, replaced some leaky seals and a few other things. It really runs nice now.

The motor may have it's cast date on the side/bottom of block that you can see through the passenger wheel well.

i did all that and was happy.... then my dash cracked and the trans started making weird noises.
