12 valve swap

better check emissions laws where you live first. Some states won't let you put an older motor into your truck......
It is cheaper and easier to just find a truck that already has the diesel you want, than it is to get it to work in your non-originally-a-diesel truck..... if you wanna do the swap anyway, find the WHOLE truck so you have all the parts you are going to need. The electrical is going to be the most fun. Granted, the 12v's have a lot less of it, but, adapting that system, to your newer dash/gauges/etc, isn't going to be easy.
Do you want auto, or manual trans?

Yea i was thinking cost effective wise that Im probably better off finding a diesel but that just isnt in the cards for now, i bought my truck for $1500 with a blown 5.9, put in another one and this thing is garbage on gas mileage and power as well, its loaded up leather and heated seats remote start and it has nitto grappler 33's on it so i figured it was a good deal, and preference on the trans dont really matter my buddys 12v is a manual and its not bad driving at all
