Default whats too hot

So I went down to the dunes this weekend. I haul a 24ft trailer (5500 lbs) with an equalizer and 2 atvs on a top of the bed rack (rack and atvs about 1000 lbs).

Duplex times pulling a hill with ac on temp crept to 210.. a needle over. Soon as I started back down it went back to 195ish.

What's a temp to worry about? When will it ruin things?

Chrysler manufactures (or did) its blocks with high nickel content which can withstand a lot of heat. I've had issues since a rebuild with running hot due to compromised head gaskets and haven't ruined anything. You're safe.

When it starts getting on toward 230 or so, you need to start looking for a spot to pull over, and let the engine idle and cool. If it keeps climbing, need to find out why. It's gonna run a little hotter under a load..... so, what you were seeing isn't unusual.

Awesome. It was a hot weekend, 90+ and that needle over 210 was the hottest I've seen it get. Usually stays under the 210 mark, but I am pushing its limits with that load and outside temp.

Thanks guys!
