Default 96 smoking while pulling trailer

Hey guys, I have a 96 1500. I pulled a trailer up the canyon this last weekend, and I noticed that as soon as I got up to our spot, my truck was smoking just a little bit. I popped the hood but couldnt tell where it was coming from. It did smell a little bit like burning oil. Other then the smoke, the truck has had no problems. I did also notice that it was low on oil, I did add some, and it hasnt done it since. I was just wondering if this is something I should worry about, or if you guys have any suggestions that I could check.

smoke from under the hood? What does your temp, and oil pressure look like when you got up there?

my temp and oil pressure both read right in the middle, right where they are supposed to be.

Probably just your valve covers leaking oil onto the nice, hot, exhaust manifolds then.

The VC bolts coming lose are a common issue. Try tightening them first. Might solve the problem. I think the torque is 13 inch pounds IIRC.
