I wanted to post a follow up and see if anyone can help me again! The code pointed to the governor sensor (thanks MonteC). We replaced it. Everything seemed to go well on re-assembly. Got everything done and now the trans is slipping in any gear. Does anyone know what we might have screwed up on re-assembly? It was not slipping before. We did use the right trans fluid.

Thanks in advance.

At what point is it slipping? Did you adjust bands?

When you refilled transmission, did you check fluid level with transmission warm AND with it in Neutral - not in Park?

Getting any codes? Got a scanner that can read live data?

P0720 Is the one you are going to be concerned with. Output speed sensor circuit malfunction. If the PCM doesn't think the truck is moving, it isn't going to shift to a higher gear. Apparently there is only two wires on that sensor....... That strikes me as kind of odd, as one is listed as the sensor ground, and the other is signal back to the PCM...... I would think there should be a third wire, for the 5 volt supply to the sensor as well.... but, the wiring diagram doesn't show that one. (you can download the service manual for your truck from here.) If you can read data, see if the PCM is seeing anything from the output speed sensor. (which I do believe is separate from the Vehicle speed sensor.......)
