cooling issuses

Default cooling issuses

my truck runs a tick over 200..the upper radiator hose it hot and the lower hose is luke warm..the radiator was changed about a year and a half ago.and the thermastat the same time..i put a new water pump on last year from carqeust.. any help would be great guys,,,thanks...

What brand Tstat? It might be defective. Stant super stat is what you want.

i have a carquest which i beilive stant does them for carquest..its a 195..should i have a 180 in there..i dont get much heat in the winter time..im thinking maybe my heater core is pluged up a little bit..

I agree with Zman. I had my Cadillac do this to me last winter. Top rad hose was hot and the bottom was warm. Heater was only luke warm. I pulled the Tstat and saw it stuck half way open. I OEM tstat solved the problems.

Also you may have air pockets traped in your system. My car runs soo much cooler after I Burped the system and put the Proper tstat in.. It wont cost anything to return it for a 180 and purge all the air out.

180 isn't going to help if you have a problem. I'd start by flushing everything and installing a new Stant 195.

head gasket could be leaking as well.
