Default Had some work done to Ruby Ram on Monday

Been having some trans problems....truck has just under 83K miles on her. After looking at many reviews on trans shops, I decided to go against the grain and take the truck 50 miles north east of where I live to Leesburg, FL to a little trans shop called Budget Transmission. I kept reading reviews on the shop and there was never a negetive review given and they said his prices were hard to beat.

So when all was said and done, he put a rebuilt 46re in with a lifetime warranty, 3 freeze plugs and an aftermarket trans cooler....total cost out the door was only $1125.

Runy drives like a brand damn new truck now...I am so pleased at the work that was done.

Lifetime warranty??? Wow. Just that bit there makes if worth twice what you paid. Especially if it is transferable, or, you plan on keeping the truck for any appreciable length of time.

Great info, I'll be moving down to the "Villages" soon. Nice to know info about a good shop.

It's not transferable, but we all know 8 out of 10 trans shops are crooks...I searched and searched for someone reliable locally, but my gut kept telling me to take the trip to Leesburg. I am so damn glad I did. Guy was straight up with me too...it was $950 for the trans and one freeze plug, but when he seen I still had the check ball set up on it, he said he wouldnt honor the warranty unless I ditched it and went with a new cooler, which was understandable, in my opinion and cost me $125 more...then he found a couple more freeze plugs that he thought were about to go and called me wanting to get them done and replaced too which he did for an extra $50.

Budget trans was listed on a site I was visiting just the other day as a reputable shop, can't recall what site it was...dangit Might have been Precision NH torque converters.

I never asked about the bands and stuff...said he has worked on so many of these 46re transmissions, that I just let him do his job. Had it been anyone else with less favorable reviews, I would have been more inclined to ask him what he was gonna do. Most of the trans he does are already rebuilt in his shop, with Sonnax parts...so it's basically a swap out with a rebuilt unit.

the guys site is: www.budgettransmission.info
