Default First post! Need some help with Accelerator Cable.

Hi Guys, Long time lurker, first time poster here!

Ive noticed my throttle getting stuck the past few days..

I popped the hood and my accelerator cable is all frayed and bent..as a result its getting stuck and not allowing the throttle plates to fully open when you floor it...I took some wire cutters to it and tried to cut some of the frayed pieces off but that just made it worse...now my throttle is totally bunked.

How easy is it to replace an accelerator cable? I have a haynes manual for the truck but its not very descriptive...My main concern is how easy getting the end through the firewall is, other than that it looks pretty easy.

Also anyone have any idea how much one costs?

I recommend checking here:

Haynes is OK for some things, but as you stated, not very descriptive.

Good luck.
