Default *&%&%!!!!

Go he heater core done the other day, and the timing chain, water pump..etc done today.. all goes GREAT.... until i get on the hwy and hear a loud bang, and feel a thump. Pull over and found out i broke ANOTHER damn ujoin, only this time it took my innner and outter yoke with it=/ So what are my options here? I want to get rid of the CAd so would this be a good time to install locking hubs out o a ford? or just repplace the yokes? Btw noticed a NICE power increase with the timing chain! I can roast my tires now :P

I know there is a conversion DIY to the Ford locking , but it's for a DANA 60 axle.

And what brand ujoints are you using?

I'm surprised. I think it's possible that one of the ears, on one the yokes cracked the last time you changed them.

What side broke? If drivers side I would pull the cover off the diff and inspect the side and spider gears in the carrier.

At the very least, short term anyway. If that happened to the shaft, I'd say the seal was instantly destroyed also.

Yes, I know the shaft itself is not broke. I was generally speaking. And like I said, if one of the ears got cracked, you can very easily not notice it when installing the ujoint. Just as easily as not noticing one pin falling out of the cap. Or a cap not being dead straight and binding slightly. (causing excessive heat and wear).
