You need a 12V, lead acid battery.

It's difficult to recommend specifics without knowing how you plan to use it. For example is your primary goal long life starting only battery OR perhaps you need the absolute lightest weight battery for your baja 1000 contender etc. etc. When choosing batteries one must always make compromises since there is nothing close to an ideal does everything for everybody battery for sale at any price. The most important info is how you plan to use it and what your expectations for it are.

Does each extra 'x' in the name mean greater power?

I've never had an Optima last more than 3 1/2 years in a DD- yellow top or red top. Price has gone up through the roof and the warranty is only 3 yr free replacement. They are not pro rated at all. I won't buy them anymore. I buy the biggest battery that will fit in the battery tray with the longest warranty .
