Id get something like that
The Pioneer I have is a AVIC-N1, I have the XM module, but I have more than just the truck and I like to move the radio with me. The vehicle mount for the Onyx lets me do that.

Yeah, no remote is kinda suck-ish. Do you, or anyone who looks at this thread, think that my gluing it to the dash would work? Like where the red circle is in my pix. It is easily accessible there.

Looks good. I am amazed that the dash is in such great shape. Super clean truck also.

In my case it is an Mopar kit bought from the dealer back in 96.

I updated my pictures, I also found a remote on ebay that supposedly will work. I ordered it and will report back. I still want to put it where I have outlined in the second and third picture. Nobody has answered, will hot glue damage the dash? It will be a permanent install.

I don't think it will damage the dash as it is not hot enough to actually melt the plastic. I am also not sure that it will hold permanently. Worst case, you can try it and if it falls off, come up with a plan B.

How about Velcro instead of hot glue, What about some kind of bracket that clips onto the cup holder? 3m body trim tape, its two sided and mega strong.
