Default Quick Question

Does the A/C HAVE to be discharged to swap the heater core? Or is there a way around it?

So today I began my heater core swap and everything was going smoothly (except for all the cracks I noticed behind my dash), when it came down to installing the new one. Slid it in, and began wiggling the aluminum pipes through the firewall, when one of them just falls off. Completely dismantles itself from the new core. Didn't break, just fell off like it was glued and didn't hold up. I never put a bit of pressure. So the parts store has no extras, and im stuck in my barn. May not get one until Saturday. What luck...

Are we having fun yet?

I like the brass fellers with the fixed (don't swivel) tubes.

You could bypass heater core to keep from being down until replacement arrives.

Well the entire dash was apart and other parts of my engine so I didn't want to put it all back together and end up taking it back apart again tomorrow lol. I don't think my dash will take anymore of that lol
