Default P1285

So coming into work this morning my check engine light came on. Put the scanner on it and came up with P1285.

I did do a search to try and figure out what the code is. I came up with four different answers!

Accelerator pedal position sensor 3 circuit performance. Don't think this one is possible on a 2001.

Cylinder head overheat sensed

Fuel pump relay ctrl circuit

Fuel injection pump always on

So the question is which one is it for a 2001 1500 w a 5.2?

TIA

Tom

According to the Trouble Code list we have on the forum:

P1285 Fuel Inj Pump Ctrller Always On

You are correct, I do not think we have an accelerator pedal position sensor. I believe that is a sensor for the newer HEMI engines.

The DTC list can be found here, in the FAQ section.

Thanks Jason,
I did see that one. When I did the search of the forums, it came up with a couple of different lists with the different explanations. I figured some of them were for different year model/vehicles. That's why I had to ask.

Definitely would rather troubleshoot wiring, vs trying to figure out why head is overheating.
