Talking what battery should I get?

My truck (2000 ram 1500 4x4 5.9) needs a new battery I called advanced and auto zone they both say my truck takes a 750 amp battery store brand Im guessing ,but theres 2 of them one for $80 and another for $90.But then I went to walmart and the book says my truck should use a 810 amp battery for $88 but can also use a 750 amp for a 2nd choice. The old battery was a 750 amp battery does it really matter what amp battery I get?I mean i would go with the 810 amp battery if it would be a bit better for some reason?if it were you what battery would you get?

If you live in Alaska I'd get a bigger battery. Otherwise either one would be fine. If the walmart one is only 8$ more bit has 60 more cranks you might as well get it

+1, with the disclaimer that my auto electric guy told me that you can go overboard. More CCA = more plates packed more tightly together, which he says can make them last not quite as long as one that has only the amount of CCA that you really need. Plus, it's more weight to lug around. The 810 CCA sounds about right, and I've had very good luck with Deka batteries. (Then again, with Matty's Autocraft 1000 CCA, you can jump-start Caterpillar D8's if the need arises).

I have the optima red top. I used to have a lag with my MSD hooked up when starting, now there is no lag.

However, I might get a yellow top when i install my UD pulley AND get E-fans.

I like yellowtops for a truck because of their deep cycle capability. its useful for powering all the things us truck guys like to add (winches, extra lights, etc.), and will crank longer then a parts store battery. Not to mention the unbeatable warranty.
