I end up either pushing them under the bench or a shelf and cannot find them when I want to check something. They mysteriously show back up at some pioint in the future - unless there was a core charge - and those puppies NEVER show back up. Strange.
mine make sounds like that for the last 3 years i spary some slicoon lube on them and it makes the noise go away for about 4 months...
I did the same thing, and it worked too. But in a full left turn my rim rubed the lower control arm and the aluminum doesn't take too well to that
New ball joints, no rub! It's nice to be able to turn fully to the left without having to worry about eating through your rims
Edit: I still can't find them ball joints to show how bad they were, guess they're gone. The bottom one was the worst, it had a lot of up and down play. And if you held it with the ball stud facing up, it would flop around like a limp dick...
The top one had damage to the ring seat, it was bent over to one side, and the ring (urethane ring I'm guessing) fell out before I got the ball joint off the control arm.
Passenger side is next.

Better stop by an alignment shop after they get replaced!
