Default Opinion on Tire Size

I'm not asking what tire size will fit and what will look good here, but I am looking for your opinions on what you guys would do to your rigs.

I'm torn. Here's why.
My truck has 315/75/16 with fender flares. (i apoligize the pic is crappy, it's a cell pic)
They rub like a bastard, but they really look awesome.

It's getting to be time for new tires, and I'm thinking about doing a 285/75/16. How do you guys think that size would look with the factory wheels and fender flares? I love the flares and don't want to take them off, so I want to make sure it doesn't make my truck look goofy with the smaller size.

Whats your opinions guys?

I ran the same size 285/75/16 on my 1500 and i personally thought they weren't big enough... I upgraded to a 285/65/20 and I liked that better due to the bigger wheel. Since you have the 2500 with a heavier suspension so it sits higher than my 1500. I would just go with a 305 if i were you. I have a feeling you will go with 285's and you wont be happy. Just my 2 cents on it

I had the extend-a-fender just like you have on yours while running a set of 285/75/16 Dick Cepek FC II's. Long story short...I sold the fender flares. Even with a set of 1 1/4" wheel spacers they did'nt fill the wheel well with those huge fender flares.

I was afraid of that. Guess I'm sticking with the 315's.

dlyter09 - 305 what 16? 75? I'm assuming....

Yea if your sticking with your stock wheels do like a 305/70/16. You could also keep your 315's and put on a good set of spacers to try and reduce or get rid of the rub

Just find some wheels on CL for cheap with different back spacing.

Mine had 285/75/16's and it look like pizza cutters, I swapped over to 315/75/16, they rub pretty bad. My advice, 305's or more offset rims.

I'm running 315/70/17. Added 2.5" spacers to the front. Free and clear. I don't recall my backspacing though. Spacer would not impact your towing/hauling. Spacers just level your front and give that clearance. Hope that is helpful to you.

lose the stock steel wheels that half your problem. Get something 8" wide with no more then 4" of backspacing, preferably not "Dubs"
