Question question about 4wd neutral

I been wondering this since I bought my truck a month ago.I never had a truck before that had 4wd neutral JUST 2WD 4 low and high .Theres no indicator light in the dash for neutral on the 4wd right and 2wd is right next to it and the book says the truck will drive in 4 wheel neutral but will move if its parked right?so how can I tell when i shift it if the trucks in 4wd neutral i really have no use for it and dont tow a trailer?just wondering I asked a few guys around here with dodge trucks and they have no clue go figure so i thought I would ask here.

You have 4lo Neutral then 2Hi and 4hi. Truck wont move or do anything when in neutral. From everything i have heard the neutral is for when the vehicle is being towed. Dont hold me to that but its what i have heard. The truck should not move at all when the 4x4 lever is in the neutral position.

In neutral, the truck can be rolled or pushed no matter what position the trans is in. It completely disengages the transmission from the rest of the drivetrain. I would not like to tow for long, one good bump is all it takes to know it back in gear...

Only times I have used it is either when I'm winching someone out or if a vehicle wont move under it's own power in the garage.
